This is also a time to rest your players.

Let the Maine kids cook and let’s get ready for the journey to 16 wins.

I don’t care who the opponent is, that’s not my problem.

This game called for the Hospital Celtics to go belt to ass, so they went belt to ass.

But overall, you know the deal.

You mix those two together and what do you get?

Let’s talk about it.

This isn’t a guy who’s the 3rd center on a championship roster.

This is a guy putting up NBA starter quality minutes on a championship roster.

Deny that reality all you want, just see for yourself

Since mid-March?

You tell me if you think this is starter quality production

Over his last 4?

You’re looking at 13.5/10.0/2.3 on 71% from the floor in just 23 minutes a night.

For a jump shooting team, that’s pretty fucking important!

This was a 7fter who couldn’t rebound to save his life for stretches.

He might be the center I trust most to grab rebounds?

Life is weird like that sometimes.

I trust him offensively and that he knows where to go with the ball.

And yes, I know this stretch is all coming against dogshit teams with awful frontcourt.

But that’s the point!

These are matchups that Kornet should be crushing, and that’s what he’s doing.

I know Payton Pritchard can bury the Wizards with 3s, I’ve seen it countless times before.

This stretch is why Pro Am Pritchard exists, so you may as well let him cook.

  • Same thing with Sam Hauser, another guy who we know feasts on the Wizards.

Since March 10th (13 games) Hauser is shooting 45.8% from deep on good volume.

We had it all from C&S 3PA to 3PA off movement to 3PA off OREBs.

Hauser’s rebounding continues to be what I consider the most underrated part of his entire season.

Rebounding is that path.

Finally, are we noticing a little off the bounce game to Hauser’s offensive arsenal?

I don’t hate it!

In fact, I like how it makes him more of a dynamic player.

I didn’t even know something like that was possible, regardless of how shitty the opponent is.

30 more rebounds?!?!?!?!?

26 total OREB is such an outrageous number it almost feels fake.

Take a second and let that sink in.

Sorry, that’s just math.

While the 3PM number is great, what I love is the AST total.

A total of 4 of the 5 starters had at least 4 AST in this game.

Speaking of made 3s, how do we feel about more NBA history being made?

No big deal, this is what you expect from the NBA’s new 3PT Kings.

While 20 3PM might be an outlier for most, for this team it is the standard.

Thank you Mazzulla Ball.

At the end of the day, these are developmental minutes for Baylor.

I’m not saying he needs to be in the playoff rotation.

I’m not saying he’s the next Great White Hope.

To me, that’s all that needs to happen with him.

Be a rotation player in the next year or two.

  • This was also easily the best Torrey Craig showing we’ve had in months.

Give Jaylen/Tatum all the rest they want and let Craig/Walsh/Baylor do the rest.

These games mean nothing.

He looks playoff ready to me.

  • Don’t look now, but The Stock Exchange is starting to round into playoff form as well.

This is the shot that was a massive boost to last season’s offense.

The man shot 60% from the corner, and that is not a made up number.

He really did that.

Given how insane that number is, regression was to be expected.

Unfortunately, Jrue regressed HARD and lived sub 30% for most of the season.

Well, how do things look with the playoffs on the horizon?

Since March 1st, Jrue is shooting 42.1% from the corners.

62.5% from the corners.

Over his last 4 games?

How about 100% from the corners.

Just keep a pin in this as we move into the playoffs.

I’m not saying he needs to beat 60% again like last year, that was ridiculous.

I just need it to not be sub-30% and get back to being a legit weapon.

So far, that was comes off as happening.

The Bad

  • Derrick White feels a little turnover prone lately doesn’t he?

Very weird trend for guy who I feel like never makes mistakes.

  • Same could be said about Baylor and his 4 TOs.

No wonder they shot 52 3PA, they were mostly brutal in the paint.

Only 6 FTA too which was off, but neither side really took all that many.

They are the inverse of what you think should happen.

  • Look, the team was up by as many as 36.

There were 0 lead changes and 0 ties in this game.

We can move on.

I’ve never really seen anything like it.

I’m not saying every once in a while, I’m talking about every single possession.

You’re either going to get a turnover or a missed shot every single time.

How could it be possible that a player regresses like this?

I’d even take him being neutral, having some good moments and some bad.

But no, it’s all bad.

This is obviously his last year on the team.

He went from a passable NBA depth big to legitimately unplayable against the Wizards.

I didn’t even know a drop off like that was possible, yet here we are.

Now just do it 4 more times and let’s get ready for the postseason run.
