I am ready to be excited about the Cubs season.

I like the makeup of the team.

On paper it looks like the Cubs should be in the playoffs for the first time since 2018.

And that is the frustrating part of this clip.

The Cubs have been building towards this for several years.

A piece or two at a time.

Silver medals over silverware.

It’s been a long time since the Cubs won 90+ games.

We’ve been waiting for the Cubs to be good for a long time.

So long that the actual core of this team is now kinda old.

At this rate the Cubs will be in another rebuild before we know it.

So all this talk about winning the division every year falls flat.

The Ricketts bought the Cubs in 2009.

The Cubs have won the division twice since then.

The NL Central isn’t exactly the NL East either.

If the Cubs don’t re-sign Kyle Tucker then they truly don’t care about winning or the fans.
