There’s a lot of things that make me feel good in life.
Dave looking at me.
Dave saying the word “Tommy.”
But there’s also a lot of other random interactions and things in life that make me feel good.
Here are some of those things!
and I have while nobody else has.
It makes me feel special and important.
I feel like the waiter thinks “Oh this guy’s a veteran.
He must be better than everyone that he’s here with.”
And I like feeling better than others.
Now I will say that I often think this is a completely pointless question for a waiter to ask.
If I haven’t been to that place, I hate it.
I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it, buddy.
Getting a unanimous “haha” reaction in a group chat.
But when I send out a funny text and I get thewholesquad laughing?
Yeah inject that feeling right into my veins.
I feel like Louis C.K.
killing it at The Garden.
When someone stops me on the street and asks me for directions.
Now I will say, I don’t always know where to send someone.
But even when I don’t, I answer confidently.
It could be sending them in the completely wrong direction.
But I don’t care.
In that moment, they think more of me.
And that’s all I need.
We give each other a look of “Are you seeing this?
That guy’s weird.
We’re both normal and can acknowledge how weird this guy is.”
It’s that mutual feeling of normalcy that can be a real bond for a moment.
Remembering what I was going to say.
I had a great point to make and forgot it?
“God damn it, what was I gonna say??!!”
I mutter to myself.
Then it hits me?
I remember my salient point?
“That’s what I was going to say!”
Yeah I can get high off that feeling.
And lastly, waking up from a nightmare.
I’ve said this before and people don’t always agree.
Nothing better than waking up and realizing that horror wasn’t real life.
My life is still my life.
Ruins the rest of my day and makes this reality feel like a living hell.
So those are six random things that make me feel good.
And I like feeling good!
