So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that game had horrific numbers.

And sure, part of that is true.
Take Connor McDavid for example.
But if you didn’t play hockey?

Well I don’t know if you’d be able to appreciate his greatness.
In fact, he almost makes it look too easy.
As if anybody should be able to do it.
The issue isn’t that the league doesn’t promote its stars.
The issue for the NHL is that not enough people are playing hockey.
And why aren’t they playing hockey?
Well because it costs a fucking fortune just to get on the ice.
The NHL themselves is actually doing a decent job of this with their Learn To Play program.
But once you’re out of that program and you’re on your own?
And they’ll never play it because sticks cost $400.
And somehow those sticks always manage to snap just a few days after the warranty runs out.
