That’s never the case when it comes to Aaron Boone.

Yankees fans proceed to simultaneously roll their eyes and groan.

That’s our manager baby!

Look, did I see this coming?

I mean who didn’t?

The only people truly shocked today are those who don’t pay attention.

Boone managed a team that won the AL and made the World Series.

He was always going to get extended after that run.

Even with that, they’re so comfortable with Boone that he probably would have stayed around.

If the players love him, why does it matter?

How much does Boone impact a game?

Is he really the reason they’re losing big games?

Boone could pull every right lever in October and it wouldn’t matter if 99 doesn’t come through.

They will not win a World Series until he flips the switch like A-Rod in 2009.

It was a move that perfectly summed up his time with the Yankees.

A microcosm of Boone not being able to elevate the team in big moments.

THAT is how Boone can negatively impact a game.

But sure, every manager makes bad moves at some point.

You’re not going to bat 1.000 when it comes to that shit.

If I’m being transparent here, he managed great in the series that proceeded the World Series.

Some of the moves he made were shockingly good.

Just didn’t get the whole job done, which is how you’re judged as the Yankees manager.

The stuff that really bothers me with Boone is his lack of accountability with the guys in the clubhouse.

Boone loves to piss on our heads and tell us it’s not raining.

We knew the defense was an issue all season.

We knew they needed a legitimate left fielder for years.

We currently know they need a 3rd baseman.

Nope, we’re all wrong and they’re right.

That’s the pattern.

Despite all of the words above, this doesn’t even bother me that much.

Stop being cheap and actually address the problem you fucking morons.
