The fact of the matter is that Terry Francona was an integral part of my life.
The AL Central ran through Cleveland when Tito was in town.
And he embraced us and all of our sports teams.
Rode his scooter to games.
Made us feel like we were his family, especially through his health issues.
Forget the fact that this is literally 1 year after he retired from Cleveland.
And don’t get me wrong, I don’t in any way think Tito faked anything.
He needed to get healthy.
He still wants to manage.
We have a great manager in Stephen Vogt.
But why did he have to go to Cincinnati?
The only other team in our state?
I know that’s not how the world works, but that’s how Cleveland works.
Anyways, great pickup by the Reds.
He’s going to provide the culture change that those losers down in Kentucky need.
You know, the Guardians vs. Reds series each year that the winner gets to take home a trophy.
The trophy that has stayed in Cleveland for 100 straight years.
The rivalry that the Guards dominate on the field and on social media….
I guess now there’s some extra juice to now.
This hiring could be what flips the tide in their favor.
I just wish it wasn’t Tito we had to flight against.
