You remember those, right?
You just did an onside kick.
You didn’t have to have players declare it was coming or change where they had to lineup.
You just did this:
The ‘one offensive play to retain possession’ sounds cool, but come on.
How gimmicky do we need sports to get?
We spent years with the onside kick just being a thing and no one complained about it.
It’s not like we all sat down and said, you know what we need?
A 4th and 15 play to get the ball back.
I’m speaking strictly as a fan here.
Refs love admitting they were awful at their job and missed an obvious call.
Plus, do we trust replay assist to jump in all the time?
But, this is an onside kick blog.
Just bring back regular onside kicks.
