The Final Four did it. It really did it. It made up for a fairly lackluster NCAA Tournament with an incredible pair of games. The latter acting as the proper headliner. The team everyone thought was going to steamroll their way through for a largely one-and-done national title. I actually feel for Duke fans. This isn’t your coach K era band of punch me face bros. Our lives are the sum of our choices. Tom Cruise is Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning. Lots of callbacks to the first few movies between flashbacks, castings of legacy characters etc which I like. That also telegraphs that this might be the last movie for this franchise. Or, at least, the end of Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt. For my money’s worth, this has been one of the best franchises in cinema....
I’m thinking at bare minimum, this was a 10 minute ordeal. A 10 minute delay at the wrong time can be catastrophic. He could have caused missed job interviews. Late arrivals to work shifts that resulted in firings. Missed flights that forced people to buy another $500 plane ticket. But I was afraid people would take it too literal. it’s possible for you to’t even be hyperbolic on the internet anymore....
