SMU Joins Indiana in Proving 12 Is Simply Too Many Playoff Teams

Just enjoy the games! We need more football! It’s just too many. The arguments about SMU getting in over Alabama and Ole Miss are stupid. Those teams each lost three games with multiple coming to bad opponents. They didn’t deserve to be in the Playoff. But there’s no solution to the actual problem. Luckily, this is what everyone wanted.

The State College Airport Was Full, So Several Planes of Rich SMU Boosters Got Diverted to Williamsport and the Mustangs Fans Had To Pile in a Bus to the Game and Miss the First Quarter

I honestly didn’t even know this could happen. Maybe Bryson DeChambeau and Craig James arriving will help turn SMU’s fortunes in the second half.

The Yak Christmas Special Included A Baby, The Grinch, Someone Getting Naked, And Someone Else Leaving The Show Forever

I’ll start at the end where there was a major announcement. We also had the Grinch show up. But we did lock him in the tunnel. Then Brandon Walker bared all as he had previously promised. I’m not gonna lie, I wanted to see more bush. But we also said goodbye to a core member of our show. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! And be sure to catch up on the full Yak Christmas special here:

This Steelers-Ravens Trend Hits At Over 75%

Welcome back to the Stats Lab. Probably doesn’t matter that much. But a coach being really good off a bye week? A team covering a lot as a road dog? Probably means they’re being consistently undervalued. League wide trends that hold steady across hundreds of matchups spanning years and years? So you have to look at every stat individually and decide if it matters. Below is my entire cheat sheet I used for Advisors this week....

Top 100 Movies Of The 1990's: #2 Pulp Fiction

I can’t think of any film that better captures that specific decade of cinema. It began the true explosion of independent studios that dominated the next few years. But no one can blame Pulp Fiction for that. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery after all. I was lucky enough to see Pulp Fiction in the theaters. The whole movie just felt so cool. I even felt cool for seeing it....

Well I Think JJ Reddick Gave Without A Doubt A Poor Response To The Current Discourse Around The NBA Product

Because I reached out to Greenie. I didn’t just sign into Barstool Sports HQ and start slamming keys to write a scathing dunk blog. Not for an argument. But for a discussion. THEN I went to Barstool Sports HQ. That’s how it’s done kids. I’ll get to that. But let’s get to Greenies takes from his blog. Because they’re bad. But I’m going to give a shot to do the reverse steelman....

"I Choose Violence" -- Landon Dickerson Should Give Every Pregame Speech For The Rest Of Eternity

I’m not just talking about Eagles games. I’m not even just talking about football games in general. The Eagles beat the piss out of the Steelers. They outgained them by over 200 yards. The Steelers only touched the ball twice in the second half. Well in that case, 27-13 seems way closer than you would have originally thought. You want to know what violence looks like? That’s what it looks like when you impose your will on another group of men....

"Oh Jeez. Got A Face For Radio Right There"

I’ll tell you what, man. I absolutely LOVE what is going on in the NHL right now. And then last night you had Brady Tkachuk ending up taking a stick to the face. The result is one ugly son of a bitch. Down a tooth, and up a bunch of stitches. That’s the kind of face that not even a mother could love. Brady is out there looking like Chunk from the Goonies....

Chapel Bill Just Got to UNC and He's Already Making it THE Program for NFL-Caliber Talent

It takes a big man to admit when he’s wrong. In my case, I was wrong about Bill Belichick. Which for me should be my area of expertise. A layup every time the topic comes up. My version of the Jeopardy! And yet here we are. Me having to admit fault. I should’ve known better. Thrived in this environment. But only two who left after Belichick took the job. And only two have committed elsewhere....

Enough Is Enough, Publicly Banned St. John's From Doing The Postgame Handshake Line

I love this, mostly because people are losing their damn minds. I have no idea what Rick Pitino is talking about. He hasn’t been in a dust-up in the handshake line, nothing happened recently. Man just decided with Big East play starting enough is enough. What really need to happen though? No other sport does it at this sort of level. You don’t see the football team lining up at the 50 and shaking hands....
