A team can endure a down period where their fans are frustrated or pissed off. You risk alienating the next few generations of paying customers. There’s no coming back from that. By February, it’s only a nuisance. If you live in the Northeast, every day feels gray. Part of the issue for me personally is I’m not a college basketball fan. I’ll watch March Madness but it’s just not something I get that excited for....

This conference was built on smaller (mostly Catholic) schools that live breathe and die with basketball. Its built on gritty basketball, crazy fanbases, rivalries, and coaches who are larger than life personalities. Thats 100% what you have here with Danny Hurley.
