Hell, why not go 20 regular season games and no preseason?
Treat the first couple games as preseason games just with real results?
I don’t see why we’d stop at 18.
We don’t get preseason in college football, we have the spring game and that’s it.
The NFL and football owns our brains.
We see it on TV, we watch.
It’s really that simple.
I know the logical mind will say something about player safety.
Good luck arguing that after we just watched teams go 3 games in 11 days.

That’s what 18 weeks of a regular season gets you.
Now if we’re going to start messing with the schedule let’s be smart about it.
I can see the players demanding a 2nd bye week.
But make the Super Bowl the day before President’s Day.
Companies across the country already give a holiday that day.

Yeah, we know the Cardinals will be playing in the 4pm window and how that game goes.
We know it’s coming.
We all saw the jump to 17 games and just went okay, that’s the new normal.
Same will happen when it’s 18 games.
Just fix the rest of the schedule, that’s the stuff that really matters.
