Arthur Fleck is institutionalized at Arkham, awaiting trial for his crimes as Joker.
When it was originally announced that Joker 2 would be a musical, I wasactually pretty excited.
Well, I am here to report that I was wrong.
Like usual, let me break it down into a quick pro and con list for you.
PROS:
- Joaquin Phoenix is really good.
Just as good as the last movie but certainly not better.
The production value is really solid, especially within dream sequences.
The cinematography is actually better than the first one.
There are some inventive shots and really cool long takes.
CONS:
Todd Phillips refused to commit to making an actual musical which made this movieunbearable.
Regardless of the musical crap, the story itself isinsanelyboring.
I won’t spoil it but you’re able to easily find it online.
You know you really fucked up when I’d rather watch Megalopolis again than this.
