I fucking hate that George McCaskey entrusted Kevin fuckig Warren with the keys to the Chicago Bears.
Chicago Bears fans can’t have nice things.
I’ll get to Warren in a minute.
Because I have quite a lot to write.
But let’s discuss Harbaugh first.
Under Harbaughs leadership, the Chargers have transformed from a mediocre squad into a formidable playoff contender.
This team unloaded a ton of their most talented players during the off-season.
(Don’t forget this man almost won a Super Bowl with Colin Kaepernick).
The Chargers went from a dismal 5-12 season in 2023 to an impressive 11-win season in 2024.
Thats not just improvement; thats a full-blown renaissance.
Meanwhile, the Bears are still struggling to figure out just about everything.
Williams Poles and everybody in their rolodexes and call histories.
ESPECIALLY after seeing the results this season.
Harbaugh was the coach who can turn around any team, and Chicago let him slip through their fingers.
Now, every win the Chargers notch is a painful reminder of what could have been.
And the Bears were the team he wanted to come to.
Which makes it even worse.
(Yes I know he had the Raiders and Broncos on his wish-list too.
So how did this happen?
(Arlington Heights' school board wants a measly $8.9 million a year from the Bears.
They then began fielding offers from neighboringshitholeslike Aurora, Waukegan, and Naperville.
His contract was up with the Big10.
He wasn’t getting offered another one.
So the Bears were the perfect landing spot for him.
The Bears finally had a glimmer of hope.
Did they make a change and start clean with a new coach for their incoming new QB?
But that was never going to happen over Warren’s dead body.
This all started back in 2020 during Covid.
Kevin Warren kept going back and forth on deciding if he’d allow the BIG10 to play football.
And as of today, the answer is yes."
Then, one week later, his mind changed.
As a family, weve had many difficult discussions regarding this issues, Warren said.
But the decisions we make in the B1G Conference we have to look at from a macro level.
We need to focus on whats right for our nearly 10,000 student-athletes at 14 institutions.
That did not sit well with Warren.
At the end of the season.Warren was gone.
