Small white ball flying at 90+ mph?
That’s not the easiest thing to avoid.
But getting your face rocked by an errant field goal?
That’s user error.
That’s either an alarmingly severe lack of athleticism or awareness or both.
It sucks because Jake Elliott is an Eagles legend.
He’s had so many massive moments with this team.
He’s a Super Bowl champion.
He made that 61-yarder against the Giants to really start that run for the 2017 team.
He’s made the most career 50+ yarders in Eagles franchise history.
It’s one thing when Jake Elliott’s misses were just killing the team.
He’s crossing the line if his misses start actually killing fans.
I don’t know what the answer is.
He’s too much of a legend to just cut him during the middle of the season.
But the man just got paid $24 million last spring, and he can barely hit chip shots.
Really the only option right now is just to let Nick Sirianni go full Sirianni and literally never kick.
Go for it on every 4th down.
