Stop it, Stephen A. Smith.

You stop it right now.

But jokes aside, to be fair to Governor Morrisey, there is actual money on the line here.

And both North Carolina and West Virginia are both public universities.

Money that many people believe should rightfully be going to West Virginia.

Then it actually kind of is a legitimate political issue.

It’s probably a negligible amount of money in the grand scheme of things.

I’m sure whatever money UNC makes from the tournament this year will be split amongst ACC schools.

But there’s money on the line nonetheless.

Technically, it’s about more than simply wanting to have a winning basketball team.

Honestly if anybody should be pro-politicians making moves like this, it should be Stephen A. Smith.

People hate the NCAA.

It’s like the one thing everybody agrees on.

A politician could probably do some damage running on a “Fuck The NCAA” platform.

I still can’t get over how wild of a move this was by Bubba Cunningham.

By pushing UNC through, he made himself THE face of corruption in college sports.

An extra $100k bonus on top of a $1M/year salary?

So thatmaybeNorth Carolina gets crazy hot and makes an Elite 8 run?

None of that seems worth it.

I can’t imagine anything actually comes of this investigation.

But I appreciate the West Virginia governor going to war for his people.

I’m sure West Virginia doesn’t have any more pressing issues for him to take care of anyways.

They seem like a state that’s got everything under control.
