With Sunday’s loss, the White Sox have now lost 20 games in a row.

We are in some rare air here.

That’s the list.

That 1988 Orioles team started the season with a 21 games losing streak!

They started 0-6, fired Cal Ripken Sr. who was the manager.

Unsurprisingly, that pissed off both Cal Jr. and Billy who were on the 1988 O’s.

They then hired Frank Robinson as the new manager and lost another 15 in a row.

The White Sox have a three game series against the A’s starting tonight.

If they lose those three games, they will be face to face with a potential franchise-crushing embarrassment.

Remember, this is a team that threw a World Series last century.

Somehow, Friday (while much less important) could be even more humiliating.

You just know that stadium will be packed with Cubs fans ready to laugh at this White Sox team.

It’s one thing to go to the game and support your team while they keep losing.

It’s quite another to get laughed at in your own park by your rival?

I’m a Mets fan so I can understand this on some level.

But we are now in water that no one has swam in.

The White Sox are 27-87.

That’s not a typo.

They are on pace to go 38-124.

The worst record in baseball since 1900 is the expansion 1962 Mets when they went 40-120.

The closest this century to hitting that mark was the 2003 Tigers who went 43-119.

They somehow won 5 of their last 6 to avoid the 120 mark.

As bad as things have been for the White Sox, it could get worse.

They might lost 24 in a row.

They might have the most humiliating experience any team can have pn their home field.

They could even lose 121 games.

But that’s not even the worst part.

The White Sox can pick no higher than 10th in the 2025 draft.

They had the #5 pick in the draft this season.

All of this failure.

All of the embarrassment.

It’s all for nothing.

At least White Sox fans will get fireworks on Friday.
