No bad shooting night, no freak offensive outlier, just bad Villanova basketball.
I know Dixon is getting NIL, but he would have gotten it anywhere else.
The dude played in the glory days of Nova.
He made a Final Four.
He had Jay Wright on the sidelines.
Since that Final Four loss?
Zero trips to the Tournament.
Bad losses every single year.
A middle of the pack at best Big East team.
You wanna give credit to Eric Dixon for sticking around one more year at Nova.
He didn’t have to.
He could have transferred and likely would have ended up on a team that was preseason top-20.
Again, he got NIL to stay, but he also probably expected some sort of decent season.
At least another trip to the Tournament.
