It was not a fun year for Jordan Montgomery and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The only way Arizona would have advanced is if one of those teams were swept on Monday.
Just like the Texas Rangers, the Diamondbacks miss the playoffs despite being in the World Series last year.

First time both teams have had that happen since 2007.
Unfortunately, it was a disaster from the jump.
Monty didn’t sign with Arizona until March 29th.
He missed all of spring so he began the year in Triple-A Reno to build himself up.
In that span he compiled a dismal 6.44 ERA.
Once he returned from the IL the results didn’t get better.
After his August 21st start, he was moved to the bullpen for the remainder of the season.
That’s what we call not beating around the bush.
It was our biggest mistake this season from a talent standpoint.
And I’m the perpetrator of that."
Sounds like an old school George Steinbrenner quote.
Those were the good ol' days.
Just not giving a single fuck and calling everyone out who deserves blame.
Also not sure Kendrick knows that Montgomery is STILL ON THE TEAM!
