This past weekend I got the opportunity to interview one of my childhood heroes, Big Papi David Ortiz.

Papi has also set up an outpost for children and their families in his home, the Dominican Republic.
CEDIMAT Cardiovascular Center is the first center in the Dominican Republic that performs neonate cardiovascular surgeries.
Its a Pioneer center in many interventional as well as surgical procedures.

How did open heart surgeries for children become the focal point of Ortizs foundation?
I remember one of these kids, he was my sons age at the time.
That was my motivation to begin, and you see what weve got going on 16 years later.
