This was January 4, 2007.
Why am I bringing up this random moment of a Stars vs Oilers game in 2007?
The Oilers finished the season with 71 points, which was tied with the Chicago Blackhawks that year.

The 2007 NHL Draft Lottery took place in April of that year.
Only the league’s worst 5 teams had a chance to land the top overall pick.
But instead, they had a chance to move up 4 spots in the draft that year.

Which is exactly what they did.
Which, of course, ended up being Patrick Kane.
Who, of course, went on to lead the Chicago Blackhawks to 3 Stanley Cup Championships.
With the first one, of course, coming against the Philadelphia Flyers in 2010.
Do Chicago fans not realize how lucky they were to land Patrick Kane?
Connor Bedard is one of the most offensively gifted players we’ve ever seen.
Granted, he is small in stature.
He’s not going to be a guy who is going to beat you physically.
He has good speed, but he’s not exactly going to completely torch you like McDavid out there.
But he has the gift of one of the most ridiculous shots on the planet.
Connor Bedard is one of those guys.
To luck into Patrick Kane.
To luck into Connor Bedard.
You’d think that fanbase would never have a single complaint for the rest of eternity.
But you’d be wrong.
All while sitting in your personal sauna for red light therapy, no less.
They are both insanely talented.
Any team would be fortunate as hell to have either of them.
Eventually he’ll realize he should be around those who appreciate him.
