I’m naturally locked in on postseason baseball and football.
As much as I love tennis, it understandably goes on the back-burner right now.
However, there are exceptions to every rule.

One being Carlos Alcaraz playing Jannik Sinner.
I go out of my way to watch those two go to war in tennis.
It’s straight up magical.

This morning we got to see them square off in a final.
Today’s 3-set final in Beijing of course went a lengthy 3 hours and 24 minutes.
Nothing is straight forward for these guys.
It had ups and downs, twists and turns, and high level all over the joint.
It all came down to a deciding tiebreak.
Entering that moment, Sinner had won a preposterous 18 of his previous 19 breakers.
He had a 59-5 record this year while also being 39-2 on hardcourts.
Throw all that shit out when Charly is the opponent.
Sinner raced to a 3-0 lead in the decider, up two mini breaks and seemingly in complete control.
That’s when Carlos decided to transform into the greatest tennis player in history.
The level he went to at 0-3 was absurd.
Sinner didn’t even really dip, Carlos just went Super Saiyan.
Well, this tiebreak from 0-3 down, that was Fed 05' shit.
Alcaraz won seven straight points to win the breaker 7-3 and bring home the title.
He’s beaten Sinner three times in three matches this year.
The Young Italian looks immortal against literally every other human alive on a tennis court.
Alcaraz negates his powers and makes him look human.
In reality it’s just two aliens battling and no one is human.
There’s a different energy when they’re playing.
By the stats Sinner has had the better year.
Still, two slams his way and winning the h2h 3-0 vs Sinner?
Not too bad at all.
Initially the International Tennis Integrity Agency found no fault or negligence on Sinner’s part.
His suspensions were immediately overturned and kept quiet until right before the US Open.
He missed zero time, despite having traces of steroids in him earlier in the year.
Microscopic amounts, but nevertheless they found their way into his system.
Sinner got a big time pass and it upset a ton of players who believed special treatment was given.
Sinner kept on playing, but now with WADA appealing, they’re looking for a 1-2 year ban.
The answer is actually never.
As a professional athlete you’re responsible for everything that comes into contact with your body.
Djokovic will be there waiting for these two arrive.
Let’s hope for some great matches towards the end like this one.
