No Surprises: Travis Hunter Takes Home the Heisman After a Historic Season
Alas, Hunter did it. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft on defense alone.

It’s rare that we get a day that lives up to the hype in sports. That was not the case yesterday. We’re looking at a potentially historic year in terms of dominance, depth and talent. We’ve seen enough big games. The Final Four contender list is incredibly deep. We’re going to see a run from a high seed, it’s just a matter of who. You look at a team like Dayton who is probably going to be a 7 seed....
Listen, unless you live under a rock you heard about Travis Hunter winning the Heisman last night. I’ll save the debate on whether or not Jeanty should have won it. Besides, Twitter loves nothing more than interjecting themselves into celebrity relationships that they have no idea about. And look, I’m a benefit of the doubt guy.
Welcome back to the Stats Lab. Probably doesn’t matter that much. But a coach being really good off a bye week? A team covering a lot as a road dog? Probably means they’re being consistently undervalued. League wide trends that hold steady across hundreds of matchups spanning years and years? So you have to look at every stat individually and decide if it matters. Below is my entire cheat sheet I used for Advisors this week....
Tom Brady has the most Super Bowl rings out of anybody to ever play in the National Football League. He’s the owner of 7 rings. But that 8th ring was strip sacked off his finger by Brandon Graham 7 years ago. All these years later, Tom finally gets his revenge. He finally gets to wrap up BG. But this was the closure he needed. He can finally move on with the rest of his life....
I know those girls aren’t professional athletes or anything. So great work by everyone involved in this nonsense. I won’t plug whatever these ladies were promoting with this streaking attempt. Merry Christmas, girls! P.S.Of course Glenny got flashed by one of them on Only Stans.
He played the heel all night and it was awesome. Most wrestling fans agree that was the best championship design the WWE ever had. It should be a thing they do for every one of these! If the show is a throwback tribute, bring out the old championships! Don’t even get me started on the titles, though. I could talk all night about how there’s way too many nowadays. They saved the best shit for after the show went off the air tonight!...
I can’t stress this enough. Cincinnati/Xavier is a damn near perfect rivalry. You have two programs trying to make a jump who gauge everything on this game. But this game delivered. It was perfect college basketball. Fifth Third was loud as shit, it was sloppy, dumb plays and then massive moments. Obviously none bigger than the final shot: Couldn’t draw up a more wide open look. Now, I assume every UC fan thought this was going in....
But it wasn’t just any party. It was a high end party at a mansion that would be rented just for this party. In Los Angeles, California. All of this was shocking and a lot to take in. When he described the party, it seemed like Eddie may have bitten off more than he can chew. What will he do? We’re not sure, but we can’t wait to find out next week!...
Look, it’s the best conference in America and it ain’t even close. The SEC is off to the best start a conference has ever seen. That’s how deep the conference is. At the same time Auburn is currently up 68-35 on Ohio State. You don’t like AP poll stats? The SEC currently has 5 teams in KenPom’s top-10. They have 11 in the top-40. The deepest conference in America, the best conference in America....

That shouldn’t be the case. Dude is averaging 23/5/4 as a freshman. I mean if Rutgers lost that game it would have been a quad 4 loss for them. They don’t have to worry about that because of Dylan Harper. But this feels like Dylan Harper’s team. He’s a legit All-American candidate. You know the drill. Your family, your religion and Rutgers basketball.
I was lucky Marie was looking out for me and quickly found another place. We were told it would be the easy credits we both needed to graduate. The class was a lot of fun. And when they ended, Mr. Bryant always led a lively discussion. We decided on a drug deal gone bad and a chase scene that ended in murder. Marie was a wealth of knowledge, and she treated me like a second son....
